Seven a-side rugby combines speed, finesse, and desire to create perhaps the most exciting 15 minutes in sports. The 7's game is primarily played in the summer in the United States, and that's when Metropolis fields entire brackets for Midwest tournaments.
Our proud 7's tradition started before the merger of the Metro and Minneapolis clubs with the first berth at the National Championships by 10 feisty Metro Men in 1992. Since then, Metropolis has distinguished itself with berths in the National competition 5 times in the past decade.
Our coaching staff includes a stable of talented old boys and our head coach, Peter "Pedro" Wildenberg. The goal is to play the game to win. If you're looking for an opportunity to learn and apply yourself during the summer months, come join us at Columbia Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and at venues throughout the Midwest, USA, and World on the weekends as we proudly wear the Metropolis Blue. |
