Metropolis versus Grand Rapids

Metropolis started out strong against the 2nd place GR team, with strengths in ball control and keeping field advantage. In spite of this, GR scored first in the battle that see-sawed all the way to the end. In all, GR scored 27 points in the first half. Metropolis stayed right with them though finishing the half with 4 tries and no conversions.

Scoring in the 1st half:
Coppernol scored off of a pass from Kreblin after Kreblin makes a long break down the left sideline. Heebner was in on the set up.

Also scoring: Woodbury, Gordy, Nuts (2nd try).

In the 2nd half, Metropolis started out by scoring the first 3 tries, getting scores from Davey, Kreblin, and Watters. Davey's after multiple phases and a long run by Heebner brought them within 4 meters. With Everyone lined up left, and only 6-7 meters of room on the right side,
Heebner called for the ball on the weak side and dove for the try. Kreblin following that try up with a amazingly long run for ... Kreblin ... who took a 8 man pick from scrum centerfield and ran (not walk, trot, cab, bus) 50 meters through a flanker and fullback for a try. Watters got in the action as well, scoring on the left side off of a fumbled kick by Grand Rapids back 3. According to Watters (who is very hairy), he stole the ball and ran it 30 plus meters for a try. Not to be outdone completely, Grand Rapids kept firing in tries as well. The best (or worst) of which started on their on 5 meter line. A Metropolis player, choosing to keep the game interesting instead of score, passed the ball directly to the previously victimized fullback who in turn took it the length of the field for a try.

Down by 4, Metropolis had 2 minutes to surge back. Metropolis gets possession, Renner breaks through off of line out (I think?) down the center heading left, passes to Coppernol who runs in a few meters and kicks it into the back of the end zone where he touches it down for the winning
try (Pedro gasps).

Scoring 2nd half:
Davey, Kreblin, Nuts, Watters (again, accoding to him)
